Special glass coating techniques meet more possibilities for evocative and stylistic filming. The unique golden coating creates a generally cool-blue toned image with amber hue. Unconventional anodized aluminum alloy in silver provides a classic and stylish appearance.
Adhere to the design of Vespid lenses, gentle sharpness captures most details on the image. Amber flares, smooth transition and gorgeous bokeh increase the retro feel.
Inspired by the industrial design of the 1970s and Mondrian's paintings, the silver appearance is subtly embellished with red and blue inks for a retro yet vibrant look. Rounded elements and rectangular lettering present modernity with geometric balance.Made of aluminum alloy, the silver lens housing provides strong protection to lenses. Retro version inherits the lightweight and compact size of Vespid with less than 1000g.
Vespid Retro has reliable mechanical performance, with uniform and consistent position of focus ring and iris ring, no adjustment needed when changing focal lengths. DZOFilm VESPID Cyber Full Frame Lens is suitable for use on productions ranging from independent to studio films. The DZOFilm VESPID Cyber35, 50, 75mm T2.1 EF and PL-mount lenses cover full frame sensors and project a 46.5mm image circle yet are small and lightweight, making them an excellent choice for handheld, gimbal, and drone work.
The lenses feature an internal focus design that minimizes focus breathing while keeping the front of the lens from rotating and the lens from changing size while you change focus. The shared position of the focus and iris gears and front diameter across the lens set makes for fast lens changes with minimal adjustment of lens accessories. An included hard case carries your lenses and protects them during storage and transport.
The Cyber part of its data connection passes aperture and focus data to assist with VFX and post-production workflows. The lens has a 95mm front diameter, allowing it to work with virtually any cine-style matte box, and it matches the other VESPID Cyber lenses. The small size makes this lens an attractive option when working with drones and gimbals, as well as when shooting handheld or run-and-gun. Sporting interchangeable lens mounts, this fully manual lens works with cameras having PL or EF mounts. The full frame lens coverage supports sensors with an image circle up to 46.5mm for use on cameras with sensors up to full frame without any vignetting. The 16-blade iris, consistent throughout the VESPID and VESPID Cyber prime lens lineups, creates round out-of-focus highlights that have a more natural appearance and contribute to the lens's natural-looking bokeh. The focus ring features 270° of rotation for precise focus pulls, and the iris ring a generous 63° of rotation. Cine-style gear rings on the focus and iris rings make the lens compatible with cine-style lens accessories such as follow focus units, lens motors, and lens control systems.
